What is Semaglutide?

Semaglutide is an injectable prescription medication for long-term obesity treatment.

How does Semaglutide work?

By mimicking the GLP-1 hormone, Semaglutide tricks the brain into feeling full, reducing appetite, and slowing calorie consumption. It also enhances feelings of fullness, acting on appetite centers in the brain and slowing stomach emptying.

What are the side effects?

Common side effects include gastrointestinal symptoms like diarrhea, constipation, nausea, and heartburn. Overall, well-tolerated with potential weight loss benefits.

Can I take Semaglutide with high blood pressure?

Absolutely! Semaglutide not only aids weight loss but also reduces the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

Are there medical conditions that would prevent me from taking Semaglutide?

Certain medical histories, including Medullary Thyroid Cancer and pancreatitis, may restrict Semaglutide use. Discuss your health background with your provider for personalized advice.

How much weight can I lose on Semaglutide?

Promising results! In a UCLA Health study, participants using Semaglutide lost 15-20% of their body weight, showcasing its efficacy.

I have friends who want to change their lifestyle as well, do you offer a referral program?

We absolutely do! When current patients refer a friend, they will receive $50 off (in credit) towards their next visit upon completion of services or treatment rendered to the person referred!

How do I start Semaglutide?

All initial Semaglutide consultations take place over the phone. You will have a 20-minute call with our nurse practitioner to review drug information, side effects and diet and lifestyle recommendations. During this comprehensive overview of our Semaglutide program, our nurse practitioner will review when you will receive your first injection in our office and lay out your medication schedule.

How do follow up Semaglutide appointments work?

You will be scheduled for a phone follow up every 4 weeks. During this short phone call, we will review your weight loss, any side effects and medication dosing. At this time, we will schedule your in-office medication pick up and next follow up phone appt.

How do I receive my Semaglutide prescription?

All Semaglutide prescriptions and dispensing are processed through our office. Our medical staff will prefill your monthly supply of syringes. Your medication pick up will be scheduled during your telehealth appointment.

When is payment due?

Payment is due at the time of your Telehealth appointment. We accept all major credit cards and FSA/HSA.

What are the benefits to Telehealth?

We have our program set up this way to save time for our patients. The consultation and payment need to be done prior to ordering your medication through our vetted pharmacy. By doing the consultation over the phone, you only need to come into the office once a month, instead of twice.

Can I travel with my injections?

Absolutely!  In fact, we encourage it because it’s important for you to consistently do your injection on the same day each week.  If you are flying domestically or internationally, we suggest keeping them in the bag with your prescription label, preferably in a hard-shell case, and storing them in your carry-on. You can travel with a small ice pack; however the medication is shelf stable at room temperature. Once you get to your destination, you can restore it in a fridge, if available.

Are there any medications or medical conditions that would prevent me from taking Phentermine?

Absolutely. Before diving into a weight loss journey with Phentermine, it’s crucial to assess your medications and medical history. Some may require a Letter of Medical Clearance from your prescribing provider. Don’t hesitate to reach out to our office for any queries, ensuring a smooth start to your weight loss program.

Are there alternatives to taking Phentermine?

Certainly! If Phentermine isn’t the right fit for you, we offer a range of alternatives, from Semaglutide to Vitamin B-12 injections and metabolism-enhancing supplements. Your journey to weight loss is customizable, ensuring you find the approach that suits you best.

Is there a weight restriction?

Our program targets those dealing with overweight or obesity, with a BMI greater than 25.0 required for a Phentermine prescription. Feel free to use our BMI Calculator to see if you qualify!

Are there age restrictions on taking Phentermine?

Indeed, age considerations come into play. If you’re 65 or older, a Letter of Medical Clearance is needed. For 17-year-olds, a parent or guardian presence is necessary during visits. Everyone must present a government-issued ID on their initial visit.
